Anonymous asked: How can you still call yourself a feminist when you don't want to be seen as a girl?

My mum said a similar thing in politer context when I first came out.
Here’s the thing though… as a female-bodied person who isn’t and doesn’t plan on taking hormones, I am seen as a girl, almost every day that I don’t dress to pass.
I have experienced sexism and female oppression in our society to the same extent female identified cisgendered females experience it… so I have first hand knowledge of the struggle of being a woman.
The fact I don’t and have never identified in myself as a ‘girl’ or a woman does not mean I’m rejecting women altogether.
My gender identity is completely separate to my social politics and beliefs.
Feminism is the fundamental belief that both men and women should be equal and have equal rights.
I believe men can also be feminists so, in the politest possibly way: piss off.
